New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2023 was full of exciting and eye-catching looks. The event showcased a variety of collections, from Michael Kors' luxe lineup to Joseph Altuzarra's technicolor psychedelic pieces. While many collections emphasized everyday wearability, others such as Rodarte and Thom Browne put forward more whimsical ideas. The week also featured high-octane runways like Area's vibrant sculptural ensembles and Prabal Gurung's starlit escape.

Roses were everywhere, from delicate buds placed on cutesy dresses to flowers printed on fabrics, while ribbons and bows added a fun and versatile touch to outfits. Soft edges and comfortable shoulder draping were also popular this season.

Many designers played with transformational themes, such as models-turned-animals and clothes as shedding snake skin, and Puppets & Puppets presented an unabashedly macabre collection. Overall, New York Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2023 was a showcase of exciting and daring looks that are sure to make waves in the fashion world.

London Fashion Week

The London Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2023 was a mix of reality and escapism, with designers showcasing resilience through cinematic productions and political statements woven into garments. The event was a celebration of clothing, creativity, and the ability to keep going in the face of turbulence, with Ukrainian designers invited by the British Fashion Council to show their collection as part of the event.

The Burberry show was the most highly anticipated of the season, with Daniel Lee's debut collection receiving much praise. Lee put an unlikely but very British accessory center stage: hot water bottles, with models clutching them on the runway and guests arriving to find them warming their seats. The collection featured unexpected color combinations, exaggerated silhouettes, and playful variations on the iconic Burberry check. The house check got a bold makeover in purple and yellow, blue and white, and cherry red. The rebooted equestrian knight logo was emblazoned on a billowing silk dress and blanket coats.

Other highlights of the event include Molly Goddard's wearable collection and Richard Quinn's dramatic floral prints and latex touches. London Fashion Week AW23 showcased a diverse range of talent, from emerging designers to heavyweight household names, leading the way in diversity both on and off the runway.

Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2023 showcased next-generation heritage and sartorial presentations that disrupted traditional runways. The week started with Fendi, where Creative Director Kim Jones experimented with cutouts on workday-ready ensembles and presented his collection inspired by Delfina Delettrez. Diesel kicked off the season with a bang by presenting its fall 2023 offering with a mountain of 200,000 boxes of Durex condoms and a risqué soundtrack.

Prada's FW23 aimed to rediscover notions of beauty throughout garments, with metal beams slowly creeping out of the ceiling wrapped with lilacs, offering an aura of grace, care, and revelation. Other highlights of the week included SUNNEI's theatrics, where they changed the runway format into a stage for crowdsurfing. Key trends for this season include functional head coverings, modular boots, and evening wear gloves as key staples for FW23 attire.

Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2023 has just ended, and as expected, it did not disappoint. Designers presented stunning collections that showcased not only the latest fashion trends but also celebrated the beauty and history of French culture

Dior drew inspiration from the wardrobes of iconic French women from the 1950s such as Catherine Dior, Edith Piaf, and Juliette Gréco. Saint Laurent continued their exploration of 80s glamour, channeling the glitzy, dolled-up corporate women of the decade. Anthony Vaccarello's collection featured sleek, logo-less, and minimalistic garments, including pinstripe blazers with school uniform-esque shoulder pads, tartan and Prince of Wales check capes and blouses, and sheer camisoles with drooping necklines.

Chanel's fall collection was a tribute to the maison's enduring symbol of strength and grace, the camellia. Virginie Viard celebrated the beauty and mystique of this flower, adorning every ensemble with it. The collection showcased the camellia's enchanting nature, captivating beauty, and powerful symbolisms.

Louis Vuitton has playfully explored the anatomy of French girl style, proving once again why the French girl reigns supreme in fashion.
