Exploring The Hottest Looks At The MET Gala 2025

The most anticipated star-studded event of the year did not disappoint as A-List celebrities took to the runway in elaborate fashion that expressed their unique take on the “Tailored For You” theme. This year’s MET Gala dress code was inspired by the accompanying exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” a celebration of black history, style and culture.

With the theme spotlighting menswear, designers were tasked with crafting unique and creative interpretations of tailored fashion for male and female clients, and they delivered excellent results that will no doubt shape the fashion of the future. Let’s explore some of the hottest and most creative looks of the night.

A Woolen Affair

The Fashion and Business icon Rihanna is no stranger to main character moments or elaborate pregnancy statements and this MET gala was no different. She took the world by storm as she stepped out decked head to toe in Marc Jabocs, featuring a black cropped woolen jacket, a wool bustier bodysuit, a black pinstripe wool tailored skirt with a bustle, a polka dot satin cravat, and a bump announcing her third child with partner A$AP Rocky, who co-chaired this year's event.

Everything That Glitters is...Silver

As far as co-chairs go, permanent co-chair and Vogue's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, showed up exuding class and grace in a custom Louis Vuitton silver floor-length gown adorned with an embroidered floral pattern, a light blue coat and jeweled brooch, and layered necklaces.

From Grand Prix to Gala

Representing the true spirit of professionalism and black excellence, Lewis Hamilton made his MET Gala co-chair debut wearing a custom Wales Bonner outfit of an ivory suit and a cropped jacket with satin lapels, matching trousers with a tuxedo stripe, coattails, a white bow tie, and an embroidered sash which hung from his waistband.

Digging deeper than the surface, Hamilton chose to tell stories through his jewel adornments and special trims, with symbolism represented by baobab flower motifs and natural materials like cowrie shells and mother-of-pearl buttons.

Leathers and Feathers

Known for pulling out all the stops and embracing an androgynous sense of style, this MET Gala was right up Teyana Taylor's alley and she showed up with all the pomp and showmanship that her fans have come to expect of her.

She wore a tailor-made three-piece pinstripe suit and padded cape with a large red flower on the right side and silver flower lapel pins on the left. She accessorized the look with silver chains across the vest and down her right pant leg, red leather gloves, a bright red cane and a red fedora hat.

Classic Excellence

Looking superfine in a classy 2-piece Wales Bonner suit, Jeff Goldblum opted for a look of muted excellence with the most pronounced parts of his ensemble being the ornate brooches and large fur neck overcoat that he wore draped over his shoulders.

Made to Measure

Actress Jenna Ortega's Balmain ankle-length dress was definitely “Tailored for her." The handmade metallic sheath dress was created from the steel rulers used by pattern makers, illuminating Ortega in an inspired ode to craftsmanship and couture.
