White Wines For The Summer

In this journal, we journey through the world's most prestigious wine regions and explore the diversity and sophistication that define truly exceptional white wine.

Domaine Carrette Pouilly-Fuissé 2022

This elegant chardonnay from the sometimes hot and dry majestic south of Burgundy has earned its name “'l'or de la terre' (gold of the earth)" for good reason.

Notes of white flowers and white fruits with a slightly woody touch grace this naturally rich wine, offering roundness and earthy elegance that pairs well with both seafood and poultry like grilled fish, lobster and poultry in creamy sauces. Pouilly-Fuissé is Chardonnay at its most sophisticated—a wine that speaks of limestone terroir, masterful winemaking, and the unique microclimate that makes Pouilly-Fuissé one of Burgundy's most coveted appellations.

Cervaro Della Sala 2017

Cervaro is a dry medium-bodied chardonnay that presents a delicate straw-yellow hue with subtle green undertones.

On the nose, it carries faint traces of cedar and flint enveloped by floral notes of Spanish broom and mimosa blossoms. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, with distinct flavours of vanilla, honey and pear and a creamy texture. Cervaro della Sala has impressive ageing potential, while being ready to be enjoyed immediately, making it a collector’s favourite. It pairs well with warm fish starters, pasta with fish or tomato-based sauces.

Chassagne-Montrachet Domaine Michel Niellon

Gautheron Chablis 2021 Appellation Chablis Contrôlée

This 2021 vintage from Gautheron captures the essence of what makes Chablis unique among the world's white wines—that crystalline purity that comes only from ancient soils filled with fossilized oyster shells.

This wine is mild and reveals itself gradually to the most sophisticated palate. It has an abundance of the signature steely minerality of authentic Chablis, balanced by subtle fruit notes of crisp green apple, Asian pear, and lemon pith that complement the wine's essential character. Domain gautheron wines are a study in purity, keeping yields lower by green harvest and pruning, and employing only natural solutions to combat pests and diseases. The result is an exceptionally focused wine with record clarity. This wine works well as an aperitif, pairing well with steamed crab or mussels.
